A new study was conducted which revealed that mobile phones have many species of bacteria lurking in its surfaces and crevices as a product of poor hand hygiene.

Mobile phones are almost always being carried everywhere including the visit to the toilet rooms wherein a number of species of bacteria like the E. coli lurk in all its corners that is why washing of the hands is a must.

In the study, researchers took 390 samples from cell phones and hands, which were then analyzed for germs. Also, the people were asked about their hand hygiene. The findings revealed that 92% of phones were contaminated with germs while 82% of hands had bacteria on them despite the majority of the respondents said they had washed their hands with soap.

According to the researchers, it is a shocking truth that people are unconsciously contaminating every surface being touched which eventually poorly affects everyone in one way or another. They pointed out the importance of hand washing as this not only stops the spread of the germs but as well as the spread of diseases brought by those bacteria. Furthermore, they concluded that educating the people with the proper hand hygiene will somehow solve this modern-day problem that is linked to the advancements of technology.
